At Barnfield Riding School, we pride ourselves on being a 5 star-rated establishment affiliated with the British Horse Society by becoming an authorised training and examination centre, the Pony Club with new riders joining every year, and the Riding for the Disabled Association by offering subsidised riding lessons for riders with physical or mental disabilities.
We are a friendly stables near Kingston-upon-Thames that welcomes riders and volunteers from all walks of life. We firmly believe in positive vibes and happy people. We take a holistic approach to caring for our horses and teaching our riders.
We have been in the heart of the community for over 40 years and it is demonstrated by the longstanding dedication of the team of volunteers that help run the centre. Our number one priority is the welfare and wellbeing of our horses.
HOME TO BARNFIELD RIDING FOR THE DISABLED ASSOCIATION
Our active Riding for the Disabled group provides lessons for schools during term time. The costs of lessons are subsidised through fundraising by our amazing team of volunteers.
We also enjoy teaching individual child and adult riders with both physical and learning disabilities and have reliable, steady horses and experienced volunteers. These 1:1 and group lessons run throughout the week, and we offer horse care courses as well as riding lessons.

VOLUNTEER WITH US
Join our volunteer programme today to learn how to look after horses. No previous experience required, you will receive all the training and support you need. The programme runs on a shift basis from 7am-1pm and 1pm-6pm.
If you would like to complete your volunteering under the Duke of Edinburgh award, please get in touch with the yard to arrange a visit and interview. The minimum requirement for D of E is 6 months.
We are also looking for volunteers for our RDA sessions during the week if you are more flexible.

Parking Information:
Due to restricted parking, anyone requiring disabled parking bays just needs to report it to a member of staff who will assist them.
